After winning their third World Series in five years and cementing their place as a baseball dynasty, the Giants and Diablo Publications decide 2015 would be a great year to refresh Giants magazine. I wanted to change up (pardon the baseball pun) the previous dark, heavy look of the magazine and give it a lighter and more consistent feel throughout. Over the years, different hands had worked on the project and different styles had been introduced, so my main goal was to unify the overall design and introduce a style to open the different departments so readers would have a clear deliniation between each part of the magazine. Also, being San Francisco, we wanted it to have a very subtle nod to the world of tech, so I took some inspiration from circuitry and keep the graphics flat.
